Samuel Hahnemann MD, the German founder of homeopathy, intended it to be a main healing modality, not complementary. Homeopathy is extremely individualized. Proper homeopathic practice requires very careful monitoring and adjusting of treatment over a long period of time in response to what is happening for the individual in each moment.
Cancer is particularly tricky in this regard. One of my main mentors in treating cancer with homeopathy is MD homeopath Farokh Master. He warned all of us that if a patient cannot commit to ongoing homeopathic treatment for at least two years, that in the case of cancer, it is better not to give any homeopathic remedies at all.
I can’t really give clients quick or general guidelines from homeopathy because it is such a highly individualized process, especially for these more serious, long-term illnesses. I suggest you do research on all medical treatments for your illness before you make a commitment to any of them.
Let me outline what the commitment for healing with homeopathy will be like. I need you to meet with me on Zoom at least once a month, sending me email updates in between meetings. If you have cancer, I will expect two full years of meetings.
You need to track and report everything in detail. I need to know every treatment you are considering undergoing, every diagnosis and test, every update from medical practitioners, including other natural modalities, chiropractic, etc.
I need to know many details that you observe about yourself, including dreams, what makes you feel worse or better, very detailed descriptions of the various symptoms you are having — all of which are clues to the best remedies for you as an individual.
If you think of the time commitment on my part (for every hour I see you I spend 2 to 6 hours in research) the fees are extremely reasonable.
For all issues except cancer, you have the option to choose the length of your subscription. With cancer, the only reason I ask to be paid in advance is that I need to ensure that people are committed to the process. In the case of cancer, giving up with homeopathic treatment part-way into the process could be worse than not having started at all.
Just because a modality is paid for by medical insurance does not mean it is the best healing path for you. Only you can decide on what is the best path for your healing.
As a homeopath, I believe that whatever modalities you choose, the more committed you are, the better the outcome will be. This is one reason why I encourage subscriptions: so you take the time to observe yourself and your situation in detail and really give homeopathy and your internal healing mechanism (which homeopaths refer to as your vital force) the chance it deserves to fully express its healing potential. This gives you a better chance to learn from me and your vital force what potential homeopathy has as a healing modality..
My primary focus is to work with clients who have chosen homeopathy as their primary care. I can only treat clients I meet with directly, not via a third person proxy, again because it is extremely individualized. If your loved one doesn’t want to see me, I cannot ethically treat them.
Also, in general, I do not give preventative remedies, as this can alter your vital force’s ability to fully express itself.
Lastly, it is critical that you consult with me about when and how often to take the remedies I recommend. Typically it is a good practice to stop taking a remedy when a shift occurs. This could be a healing shift, a healing aggravation, or something else.
The remedies work with your current state that might have shifted since the last time you took the remedy. Overtaking remedies can be extremely counter productive. Again, homeopathy is not a system where one remedy fits all, or where one remedy fits you forever.
Homeopathy is healing from the inside out, not the outside in. It is about listening to the vital force for clues about what it needs to release and heal, not about forcing change from externals. If that doesn’t resonate for you, I suggest you find what does.
